wheelage

ARG well i have to post 15 uselss posts i guess before i can actually do things like put up pictures and links. so anyway on to what i was trying to post...

mkay so the first thing i've been drooling on for my soon-to-be-mine prelude are a set o' wheels. before i even saw this picture this was exactly what i had in mind. i was thinking of a 5-7 spoke bronze wheel, then i saw exactly what i was envisioning here:

(IMAGINE A LINK TO A POST IN PRELUDEZONE CONTAINING A PICTURE WITH A BLACK 5TH GEN LUDE WITH BRONZE WHEELS)

whaddya think? i'm also debating between 17" and 18". did some searches on google images to see if the 18's were overkill, but they looked pretty flippin good. i'm kinda liking the look of these enkeis:

(IMAGINE A PICTURE AND / OR A LINK TO A PAGE CONTAINING BRONZE 18" ENKEI EVO 5's)

oh and yes the dude i'm in contact with has a black lude.

I have been looking for a set of wheels myself. I too have a black Prelude. My own opinion is that chrome looks the best on black cars. I looked at going with a black wheel with a polished lip, but I don't like the look. So I looked for a very long time and I finally came across the Diablo XLR8

http://www.discountedwheelwarehouse....ShowLarge=True

Has the black and lots of chrome I like the look again my opinion. I have seen black cars with bronze wheels and they all do look good, I think its more a matter of preference.

Black and bronze generally looks awesome, Drew's car is testament to that. As for 17s vs 18s, it's very much a personal opinion.

17s

18s

19s

NOTE: With 19s your speedo will most likely be waaaay out, you will lose a LOT performance wise and they look too big.

Sorry I couldn't find a pic with black/bronze on 18/19s. It's really up to you, both look great. 17s sometimes look too small, but 18s sometimes look too big, and I just don't like 19s.

I say the 17s look the best, I like my painted stockies.. the more wheel you got generally the more weight as well... Honda did a lot of R&D to pick they size they did, and built the car for it, just my two cents.

I believe 4th Gen had 15's not too sure though.

But yes 5th Gen has 16's

I think I am going with the 18's I think they look nice, plus I need the little extra lift to clear the speed bump at work,

Again I think wheels for your ride are mostly one's preference.

yeah i was referring to Drew's, in fact i asked him if those wheels can be found for sale anywhere cuz i did a search and all that i got was a link to a bunch of forum posts and galleries. no online stores or anything.

yeah i'm leaning towards the 17's myself. 18's look great too, but the 17's are a nice balance of appearance and performance.

although i've found a silver 98 lude a few hours north of where i live that i'm considering. if i go silver then i'll probably go with gray / carbon look wheels.

also i'm not a fan of chrome on sporty cars, looks too bling. i like the flatter finishes, it looks 'all business'. :)

yay now i can post pictures links and other fun things.

as i was saying, i can't find Drew's wheels for sale :(. so here are a few wheels i was looking at:

Tenzo R DC-6... never heard of 'em

enkei evo 5. not sure about the polished parts.

5-zigen fn01r-c

wedsport sa-90

any other recommendations?

AND AGAIN, if anyone knows where to find Drew's wheels, much appreciation and good karma will be sent your way. thanks.

I always look at a wheel and judge it buy it bolt patterns, if it has only the one bolt pattern for your car, I call that a good quality wheel. Multiple patterns in my opinion are cheap looking and to me aren't as good, unless you look at it as less weight if you are going for a lighter weight car. (Okay racers don't go start drilling holes in your wheels there is a safety factor here )

No but I could ask my buddy he owns a 03 or 04 360 Modena, if I can borrow his,,,
I doubt they'd fit. But I guess that would look good. I might be able to photoshop them once I get a photo of both of our cars. I might head over to his place sometime this week and get the pictures, plus I want to get photos of the Lude with the Ferrari with both of us in the photo, for the non believe'n haters.

Stud pattern, offset, etc. We need to know these things before we can jump to an answer. Stock 5g is 5x114.3 stud pattern, +55 offset.
