Didn't want to hi jack the Exhaust thread

I wanted to know what you guys and gals here on PZ think about some of the exhaust packages on eBay. I know "You get what you pay for" and they are cheap. I have a bad exhaust leak (the flex part right down from the manifold) and I'll have to park the car until I can get the money for a Skunk2 system (We're talking header all the way back). I thought I would ask if anyone has bought the systems on eBay (they claim to be T-304 stainless) and can tell me alittle bit about it. Like does it fit alright, are the hangers in the right place, does it need fabrication? Thanks

p.s. I have the 1997 Prelude S
engine H22A4

I bought a header for the 4th gens.. its pretty much the same thing as stock. It doesn't have the precat so I guess its slightly less restrictive, nothing to jump up and down for. It does look nice, got a nice shine to it. The hanger was in the right place, but I scraped it on a bump one night and broke the weld, had to take it off and when I did I saw that and decided not to bolt backup the hanger for fear it would rip the hole larger; going down the highway that same day the hanger went flying off, so I had to get those holes welded.

If you have a bad leak and NEED it replaced NOW and don't have the money for a better product, sure go for it, but I wouldn't really recommend it in any other circumstance.

Okay yeah thanks for the heads up. Ok now that I have going cheap out of my head.

Which system by GReddy should I go with
Ti C
SP 2
EVO 2

I know this question is probably asked so many times, I just want to get the best performance out of the system I'm not too crazy about the looks I just want performance.

p.s. Why does Greddy have all three of these CAT back systems for the 97 Prelude non SH and don't offer a header? (just wondering)

Is the EVO 2 under the 95 decimal noise ordinance?

The one I have right now is a eBay special N1 Style muffler (make?) its loud as crap and I hate it, I've been pulled twice by police guess they thought I was alot younger (no offense) but both times no ticket.

Its also funny how GReddy shows sound and video of the Ti C and the EVO 2 systems but nothing on the SP2.

Does anyone know if GReddy's video on their site of the S2000 and the 350Z had the silencers installed in them? Or does the EVo2 even have a silencer?

hmmm, what are the major differences from the H22A4 to the H22A1? I guess that it would bolt up fine but will it give you the same performance being on a 5th Gen. I'll have the call GReddy and ask them what they recommend. Thanks

if its an sh you have to mod something ( no clue ) but the only diff in the 5th gens are the length of the piping so I bet the greddy one will fit if its on a base.

I believe that the major difference between the SH and the Base is length. I think the Cat Back for the SH is a 6-10 inches shorter or longer (can't remember which) where it bolts to the cat than the Base exhausts. I think some exhaust systems even come with a filler piece of straight pipe with flanges on both sides so you can add it on there or omit it accordingly. I think it's got something to do with the placement of the ATTS system. I could be wrong though.

Also, I could be wrong about this too, you might wanna ask someone who knows a little better, but I believe that the decking of the H22A1 and A4 are different? Isn't one open deck and one closed deck? I know that JDM and USDM are different in that sense.

Also, I know you seem pretty set on Greddy, but if you are really trying to keep your noise levels down, I know that Tanabe's new line of exhuasts are all under 95dB.

That header doesn't fit, I called GReddy and spoke with one of the engineers. They don't make them for the 97 - 01 models. Didn't say why either. Think I might start looking for a different cat back too.

How about an OBX header? Anybody know about these if they are any good or not?

I have an import tuner that they put a greddy header on a base 5th gen let me dig it up and see what they said they had to do to make it fit.

Update I found it...they put it on an sh and all they did to make it fit the sh was move the rear mounting bracket so Im damn sure that the base 5th and the 4ths are the same man. Look at all of the ebay SH!t headers they it 92-01 from what they say. Also my buddy with a sh used a cheep ebay one an just cut the rear mount off. So just get it it fits I dont care what guy said.
