OEM Fuel Pump

Hopefully this post will neither be too pedestrian for this forum nor expose too much of my ignorance. LOL!

Can someone please tell me the OEM brand for fuel pumps Honda installed in 1999 Prelude models? Call me crazy, but I'm sorta partial to OEM parts.

THANK YOU!

Re: OEM Fuel Pump

Japanese manufacturers tended to use various component suppliers, so it's not necessarily consistent across production, but Nippondenso (Denso) is usually a pretty good bet. Could be NTK, too, but I associate them more with replacement parts. I think you can still get Denso fuel pumps from some of the chain auto parts stores...the Honda-branded part is nearly unobtainable.

Re: OEM Fuel Pump

Thank you, Jamie that's helpful info. The good news is (as you probably know) Preludes are user friendly for fuel pump replacement in that you can access the tank by removing the rear seat as opposed to dropping the tank like I've had to do on other vehicles.

Thanks again,
SilentRon

You could try looking at the part on 'hondapartsnow.com'. Sometimes they list the brand with the part if multiple brands were used. Its a long shot but if you're desperate then give it a shot. :)

Kolusion:

Thanks for the tip. I checked it out and the Honda pumps are discontinued. I found Denso units on eBay, so will most likely go that route. Thanks again!
