Euro R cold

Whatís up guys. Iím really new to Honda cars so bare with me here and any help I could get would be greatly appreciated!!! I have a 99 base prelude. I did a motor swap in it this summer putting a euro R H22a into it. Iíve swapped the car to OBD 1 ecu, dizzy and have the proper jumpers to make the motor run and perform with a 99 wiring harness. The problem Iím having is that when the car is cold it will not rev past 2200 but once it starts to warm up if you turn the car completely off then start it back up it runs like a new car. The car does not have IVAC I was told it was needed to make the car run but I could be wrong and may have to get the adpater for it. It has the real euro R intake as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Re: Euro R cold

My euro r runs fine on a h22a4 ecu and harness. Could be an issue with ecu if you swapped a base model?

h22a4 is definetly wrong ecu for Euro R engine

you should consider doing obd1 swap and proper tune

Homestly surprised it was a straight over swap but shes run like a dream for over 40k. No obd1 swap no ecu tune. Just an a4 harness and ecu. Those engines are nearly identical.

incorrect, your a/f is way wrong since R/S engines have better cams and higher compression, better intake manifold.... your engine will wear more quickly because wrong af ration and you lack power
