Auto Tranny Upgrade.....

I have a 2000 prelude vtec, and was wondering if it is possible to upgrade the tranny with a street legal stall torque converter, or any type of uprgrade for acceleration purposes??? I only have i/h/e/p mods... open to any suggestions, or prior mods that are similar Apprreciate the input guys......

go research how an auto tranny works and then come back and answer your question.

A light flywheel would work, though I"m not sure they make them for autos. Or if there's a difference even, hmmm, that's something I've gotta research...

The lighter flywheel will make the engine feel a lot more revvier, and make it drop revs quicker, but that's about it.

As for clutches, again, not too sure how that would work. A killer torque converter would probably do the trick, but I would imagine anything would have to be custom.

First off my post was advice for you, so you could fix your question so it would get answered and not made fun of. Second there is no way in hell you could educate me when your asking for a stage2 clutch and flywheel for an auto tranny.

Now to try and help you out. There in NO flywheel in a auto tranny, the closest thing to one is the flex plate and about the only thing they have in common is they both bolt to the crank.

Now if your trying to up grade an auto tranny, you"ll need a shift kit and a stall. But i dont think they have any thing out like that for a prelude, but I might be wrong. Your best bet would to just search around for it. Someone might make them.

Happy

yeah, i meant something like a stage 2 clutch kit....something to help the acceleration of the car that would be street legal....ive heard of stall torque converters that stall the car 2000-3000 rpms, but that does not sound safe to drive in the streets as a d/d

Like was said before there is no clutch and flywheel kit for an auto tranny. Just trying to help out I would like to re-interate that you will need something like a shift kit, and maybe a torque converter. Again said before most of us don't even know if these items are available to the regular consumer. If you have the $$$ I'd imagen anything is possible.

Thats weird...I've never heard of torque converters for 4 bangers. Only thing I've heard theyre used for is big V8s. At least theyre much more common when talking big auto V8s.

I'd say spend the money and do a 5 speed swap.

Yea man, I gotta admit, its fun to drive an auto car fast...but theres NOTHING more enjoyable than driving a manual fast...Plus, it keeps you in touch with the very art of driving.

Keep it real, yo.
