Icon2 Code P1259 - Safe to Drive with CEL?

Hi!

1997 Prelude
Swapped Auto to Manual
Was using Chipped p28 ECU.

I recently converted my p5m ECU from automatic to manual (paid a TV guy 25$ to do it) so that I can remove the Chipped p28 because I plan to forever stay stock and pass CA emissions....

I disconnected my battery...
Then removed the obd1 Chipped p28 ECU + jumper harness.

Attached obd2 Stock p5m ecu to factory harness (converted to manual by moving 000 resistor).

Reconnected battery. Started the car. And drove fine everywhere without problem. And I am afraid to rev past 5k rpm to test if vtec still works.

ONE CEL code immediately turned on: p1259.
My Oil level is PERFECT. 5w30 Synthetic. Recent oil change.
Recent leaks fixed (a ton of leaks... oil cooler o ring, oil pressure switch, cam seal (behind vtec solenoid). No more leaks. (literally dye tested.. :D)

I know why the CEL MIGHT be on though...

When I had the chipped p28 obd1, I had a guy diagnose why VTEC wasn't engaging...
His solution was to ground the Vtec Pressure switch to see if it would work (which never did...)

So now that I have obd2... the computer thinks the switch is BROKEN because it has been disabled...

Solution: Go back to the guy (when he's available) to reverse what he did... and hopefully the code goes away..

Am I correct with my assessment of this situation?

And If I had to make long trips (due to life and work..) is it safe to still drive the vehicle without damaging anything?
The Honda guy I go to isn't open on weekends and never answers text messages or calls on weekends (because life...) SO I don't have a guarantee for an appointment with him next week....

I am also getting the car painted pearl white by Maaco on Tuesday....

Thanks everybody!

Make sure there are no blockages in the oil passages for the head.
VTEC requires/references:

- Tachometer
- Engine Coolant Temp
- Vehicle Speed Sensor
- No DTC's/CEL
- Throttle Position Sensor
- Oil Pressure
- VTEC Oil Pressure Switch
- VTEC Solenoid

Here's a link to another thread about no vtec:
