99 prelude radio installation

Hello everyone, today I wanted to finally install a radio. I've got all the wires cut from the car and connectors so it's just about putting the wires in the butt connectors; Except that the wires in the car are completely different than the wires from the radio.

Old wires: Black, Red&Black, White, Grey&Black, Blue&Green, Red, Red&Green, Brown&Green, Grey&White, Blue&White, Brown&White, Red&White, white&Red.

New wires: White, White&Black, Grey, Grey&Black, Green, Green&Black, Purple, Purple&Black, Red, Blue&White, Yellow, Black.

I'm wondering what new wires do I put with the old wires that are completely different colors?

Thanks in advance!

Re: 99 prelude radio installation

Would have been a lot easier if you had just bought the right stereo harness instead of cutting all of those wires

Not going to spend any money when I don't have to. I don't care about extra work.

@Kdavis
I was using these sites:
Stereo: How to Wire a Pioneer Car Stereo | eBay

Car: 1999 Honda Prelude Car Stereo Wire Colors

Are these accurate though is my worry.

Haha. I take very good care of the car engine wise. As far as this radio thing goes this is the first time I would of ever installed one and this car has never had a radio in it since I've owned it.

+1 to "buy the harness". Costs maybe $20. Not worth the pain in the butt.

How much is your time worth? A $20 harness and you would have been done in less than an hour.

Re: 99 prelude radio installation

The radio you bought didn't come with a wiring diagram? If it didn't come with a sticker with that info on there somewhere then it should definitely be available in the manual... just match it up to the chart you found on the web.

I bought the radio years ago for a different car so the box is long gone. I can easily find the wire diagram online that's no problem. But the link that I provided above from the honda site is what makes me uneasy. I'm not sure if the wires are correct. There are some there that the diagram shows, and some that are not there. Would I be okay with just powering the grounds together then the 8 speaker wires? There would be 1-2 wires unused on the new wires and 2-3 unused ones from the car. What would I do about those?
