Knock Sensor Pigtail

I recently replaced my knock sensor. I found that the wire running to the sensor had been cut about half way up, so the pigtail is missing. I extended the wire to reach the sensor, but the check engine light is still on for the knock sensor. Nobody sells the pigtail by itself and I didn't find anything at my local u-pull-it. Does anyone have any advice? I own a 97. Do civics or accords from that time have the same pigtails?
