Hello community!

So, I'm new here and I look forward to contributing as much as I can here.

My first car was a 96 Honda Accord Ex-V6. After having that I had always wanted a prelude from the same years. Well I've been driving a mustang for a few years and I FINALLY stumbled across a bone stock Base Prelude.

It's in great shape with 173k miles. Interior is pristine, and the engine is running great.

after driving it for a few weeks now, things I've noticed that need to be replaced are ball joints and bushing in the suspension (really squeaky) They all look pretty rough and looking at it the easiest way to go might to be to just replace all the control arms all together rather than each individual joint. I'd like to hear thoughts on this. The exhaust also has either a rotted bushing or hanger because I can hear it rattle in lower gears but that no problem. I already know a good place to get that fixed for cheap.

My MAIN question has to do with its gas addiction. It gets great gas mileage but when I start to get below a quarter tank or lower, I gets harder and harder to crank up after its been off for an hour or so. The last time before I got gas I was afraid it wasn't going to start. For now I'm just going to keep it topped off, but my concern is my gas light NEVER came on . The gauge was really low, almost past E but A proper warning would be nice. What could cause this to happen? What are possible solutions to this problem without keeping it above half a tank at all times? Is it possible a bad pump or dirty filter could hinder the starting performance on a low tank? Any help is much appreciated. I look forward to getting to know all of you here and hope I can help you with your problems as I gain new experiences.

The warning light hardly ever works on 5th gens. I ran my car out when I first got it waiting for the light to come on. It wasnt the bulb in the cluster either I remember reading about something to do with the wiring by the pump. The fuel filters are recommended to be changed if it doesnt pass a pressure test of 60psi (i think) but I just changed mine anyways, you should too along with other maintenance since you just got the car. Its not good for the fuel system to run that low on gas anyways so try to keep the take from running that low.
