Auto and Manual shift knobs

Does anyone know if the auto and manual shift knobs thread onto the shaft the same? I'm just wondering if the only difference is that the manual has the shift pattern stamped on them. This is the one I'm talking about.

i'm almost positive they do i know my auto knob now screws onto my 5spd shifter. so yeah it should work. only proble is the auto knobs are so tall it makes it look like a big 18 wheeler shifter.

yea.. they do. the only problem though i noticed, like 1BadBB6 said... the auto knob is really tall.. but also the threads on the 5spd shifter are a lot shorter so you wont be able to screw the knob down as far as the autos can go... thus making it look even taller.. i just tried it with my auto 5th gen on my 5spd 4th gen shfiter and it worked.... but it looked really funny.
