Volume Knob - FIX

Since I bought my Prelude a few months ago I've had the issue where the volume knob is unresponsive. When I turned the knob up the volume would go down or did nothing and vice-versa.

I took the radio out. Removed the knob. Removed the top cover. Sprayed electronic cleaner on, around and behind the knob while spinning the knob forwards and back and pressing it in repeatedly.

The volume knob now works like new.

Re: Volume Knob - FIX

This will also work for "crackly" volume adjustments. I cleared up the crackle on the 27 year-old Clarion Bose head unit in my Z, by doing this.

Re: Volume Knob - FIX

If anyone knows how to get this damn volumn/power knob off the radio without breaking it please due tell. Mine is doing the same thing as the person who starred this thread but I can’t figure out how to remove the knob.

Re: Volume Knob - FIX

Pull on it.

For real though. Pull it straight off. It's just pressed on.
