Rear Lip

Finally finished this project off by installing the rear under spoiler.
This piece was the best quality by far. It utilized the factory bumper mounting holes without needing any additional drilling or 3M tape. There is a slight gap on the drivers side. I accented it by shinning a flashlight through the gap, but when your standing you cannot notice it. 9/10

You can do this install without removing the bumper, I don't care what the manual says. When installing just reuse the 3 spring clips from the factory molding you removed. Install the bumper bolts first, loosely. Then install the plastic retaining clips and come back and tighten the bumper bolts.

I did this on the ground. It would have been much easier on a lift. Wear safety glasses or goggles because a lot of road grime and rocks will be falling on you.

Sorry I didn't take a picture before taking off the factory molding.

You can find this item HERE.

Re: Rear Lip

nice work rave, adding these trim pieces cost, your ride looks great !!

i paid quite a bit for my type s front lip and even more to get it painted
my preference is only the front lip, no sides or rear

i had previously bought a fibreglass replica of the type s lip, and am very glad i did not install that one, it did not have any of the brackets or mounting points for the bolts etc., also keeping that one free of chips, cracks, peeling would have been impossible

:)

Re: Rear Lip

I think lip kits complete the car. I had an Acura TL and having the AFP kit completely changed the car from a grocery getter to a sports sedan. I don't know how this will hold up to chips, but the Lude is my summer car so it won't see any snow.

Re: Rear Lip

agree, lip kits are a big part of how a car looks ! ...rims, and suspension too
Tls are really nice! that kit too ! i had a accord sedan but did not do anything cosmetic to that one, it drove without issue for over 350,000 kms, still would have kept going but i did not want to replace the suspension, lines, etc :)

My first car was 90 CB Accord and Ive thinking that if I ever get another car (dont really need car in my life right now and insurances etc are damn expensive here) it might be 2004-2008 Type S K24 Accord

Re: Rear Lip

real ones are really rare and expensive - replicas can be found all over the internet.

I saw one in ebay from Poland which had rear diffuser as well

but it was like 250 with shipping and then you have to get it painted so...

Re: Rear Lip

It almost sounds like the people swearing by Mugen don't have spoilers of their own.

Re: Rear Lip

i hear you TypeT !! this is what forums are about !!
I like the mugen rears a lot, but for me, if you are putting on rears then you have to put on sides, and for some reason, I just can't get behind the look of the side kit options...
