P1297 Help please.

Hey guys and gals. I need help on this problem Ive encountered. Im getting a P1297 code anytime I hit 6500rpm. The code feels like Im hitting rev limit but with a CEL attached. Ive checked all my grounds, repaired some wiring at the Pcm, replaced alternator and Im still looking for stuff to do. The code says Low input at Electronic Load Detector. If it is my ELD that has gone bad I cant seem to find it to figure out how to test it. Every time I look it up I hust see Accord or Civic threads.

Well...No help so ****. I decided to grind and find this **** out on my own. Heres an update on this piss poor situation. I learned that the car reacts normally without this problem after you connect an obd2 scanner to it. I believe it to be a bad ground but every time I check the damn things, everything is on there correctly and doing it's job. Except the valve cover to powersteering bracket. I doubt the problem is from this but I will fix it and update when I find the issue.

Re: P1297 Help please.

Oh yeah, and the car is further deteriorating quickly. If I remove the OBD2 scanner the cluster freaks out and the car barely runs. Im not being lazy here and using the obd scanner to "fix" this thing, Im using it as a temporary fix until I find out what the hell is going on, as always, any tips are greatly appreciated.

Re: P1297 Help please.

Do you have a manual? There is only one page in the manual on troubleshooting this code so hopefully this helps.

Report back on your findings.

Re: P1297 Help please.

Reporting in my findings all right. After a few months of this thing stumping a few technicians, all my friends, and an epectrician I faceplanted in the motor out of frustration. On the verge of giving up I spotted the thernostat ground, backed up a SINGLE thread. Once tightened the gremlins went away. Im sure I checked that ground at least 10 times and so did the others that worked on it.
