what engine will fit in my 2001 prelude se?

Hello everyone. I'v come to this web forum looking for an answer to my question. I will make it as short.

So I was given a 2001 prelude se from a friend that use to live in canada. Just recently I let my father drive it around and cooked the motor. The head and blocked are warped so now Im looking for an engine.

My question is what motor can fit in my 2001 prelude se? Are all h22 motors are the same? Im not totally familiar with these engine so any accurate info will be helpful. Also does it matter if the engine comes from an auto or a mauel?

Looking at google it is the same as the base model with a few creature comforts like leather and SH rims. So it should be the same as a Base model mechanically. H22a4 would be the engine for you either way though. Also from what I have seen the engines are the same between auto and manual, just slightly different from base to SH. Hope that helps.

no they are not - some have more power than others

autos suck - they just break very often (I mean the transmission and of course they have different ecu)

ok thanks everyone. I was worried because when I was looking at engines in car-parts.com, they would only list engines from 2001 prelude only and it has to be a sh model. I assume that the Canadian se model had the same engine as the sh model in the us. Ill just keep an eye on craigslist of some one parting out their car. If there is anyone on here that has an h22a around boston area ill be interested.

NO.

The SE is a tarted up BASE MODEL. An engine from a Type SH or Type-S will NOT work for an SE.
