Okay, so I've got a '00 Prelude and the CEL came on almost immediately after filling up about 3 days ago. I figured the pressure in the gas tank just didn't get back to where it needed, and after refering to my manual it said if that was the case then it would go off after about 3 trips. Well, its still on so I took it a step further and jumped my service connector to get a service code. It ended up, as far as I could tell, a code 61, which in OBDII cars apparently has something to do with one of the oxygen sensors. We are also taking a trip to Chicago for Thanksgiving, and I don't have the money to both get it checked out and make the trip, so I was wondering what implications a bad O2 sensor could have on a long trip of a few hundred miles? Any insight would be awesome, thanks.

EDIT: Sorry, I accidently hit enter while typing the title :-/

Anyway, I also have not found a clear cut CEL Code list for 5th gen preludes. But i'm nearly certain it was a code 61, so if anyone can verify that for me that'd be great. And if any mods read this, please change the title of thread to 00' Prelude CEL Code Problem.

Also the local dealership said it would be 400-450 to fix it :-/

obdII can be scanned at like autozone, advanced auto parts, or whatever local auto supply store you choose for the most part, theyll tell you what the cel is on for.. if its an o2 sensor just buy one and replace it yourself, a lot cheaper than 400
