using s2000 oil filter

Getting ready to do an oil change. Read some posts that an oil filter from an s2000 would give a little better oil pressure and flow. The auto parts stores I have been to list the same filter for both the prelude and the s2000. I took a number someone posted 15400-pcx-004 and it crossed over to the same filter for both. Supposedly the S2000 filter is a little bigger. Can someone give me a good number for the s2000 filter that will work on a 99 h22? Thank you.

Ed

The part number you have is right, it is certainly not the same that is used for the prelude but is unique to the S2000. Not sure how they could cross reference each other.

PN: 15400PCX004

Used that same one once on my H22a, fits fine. Friend I believe uses the same on his H22A4.

The s2000 filter will do nothing for you. If anything, you lose oil pressure due to how much larger it is vs the typical Honda filter.

Stick with a Hamp filter or your everyday Honda filter.

What you're saying makes sense to me. Its strange, a lot of people seem to think it actually increases the oil pressure... personally I don't know. I only used an s2k filter once because it was cheaper then the h22 one at the time I did the oil change. :/

Re: using s2000 oil filter

Thanks for everybody's responses. The reason I asked was because we were doing an oil change and had read that a S2000 filter had been recommended by several posts. I thought I would give it a try. Every filter I came up with was the exact same size externally. Some said the S2000 was a little bigger. I did not go to the dealer though, maybe next time.
