Re: First Post: Type SH Underbody Upgrade

I see a problem here...Left and Right Inner Tie Rod ends are shown to be the same but these are different sizes...did the supplier send me wrong parts?

The 2 shown in the picture above are the new ones I received. What puzzles me is why the supplier sent me 2 different sized inner tie rod ends?

That is strange, are the part numbers that are on the packaging the same as what you ordered? If they are the same measurements as the OEM ones length wise then they will probably be ok

Might be a revision of the same part # or they goofed and sent you the wrong stuff.

Yep...posted the PN above. Both should be same. Trying to contact Partsgeek but their website is down and they don't have email contact. Sounds sketchy...

Re: First Post: Type SH Underbody Upgrade

OK, so I'm finally ready to work on the car since last post :p

Started to remove parts to inspect before replacing and ran into a couple of niggles.

1. The rubber seal between steering rack and inner tie rod end on the drivers side had disintegrated. I can't seem to find the right PN. I think Honda calls it "Seal Kit A - 06531-SZ5-003 - $67.60", which is quite insane.

The seal goes where the ridge is (yellow arrow);

2. The new inner tie rods didn't come with locking washers, OEM ones are smaller. Where can I buy ones that will fit aftermarket ones? Or should I force the OEM ones onto the tie rod end?

3. Front has 2 ball joints per knuckle, a youtuber used angle grinder to grind the tip off and then C-Clamp to push it out. I rented the Honda OEM tool but not luck. Any ideas?

Next, I want to tackle steering rack bushing.

Thanks fellas!
