Ok im jeff btw an got a 97 lude sh with type s swap chiped p72 with type s base tune but the prob is was on way to work an it just disengaged with stick still in gear .. an few day later was working fine for a mile or so. Just works when it wants wondering if anyone has had a similar problem and what the problem was kind of a emergency since fiancea is pregnant anwe got allot of appointments coming up in the next few days.thank you all in advance ps my apologises. If im posting in worng area if so plz point me in the right direction

Did it jump out of gear? Not quite sure what you are describing.
Shift lever attaches to cables, that attach down on transmission.
Would it be loose where they attach? You might want to check.

Nope shifter stays in gear and is hooked to thelinkage...etc will shift fine then nothing again few days latter bout to pull the trans and take a peek inside just dident want to for it to be some goofy prob an its been driving fine for months
