Clutch engagement point

Hey guys,

Did a quick search and couldn't find a thread that had anyone saying the engagement point had changed on its own out of nowhere so I decided to start a thread. Anyway my clutch has been working fine no problems nothing unusual until a couple days ago my engagement point decided to drop basically to the floor on its own. I had it parked at school it drove fine in the morning but the moment I started driving it on the way back home it was like that. I literally have to press the clutch all the way down to the floor in order to switch gears, any less and I'm grinding the gears. Would love to hear some input thanks guys.

Re: Clutch engagement point

Bleed the clutch.

Either your master or slave cylinder may be failing - you lost pressure.

I actually don't understand why everybody doesn't go straight to the floor while changing gears as is. How hard is everyone shifting to not realize it's not fully disengaged for a smooth shift

Re: Clutch engagement point

look into your clutch hydraulic lines, like wing8806 said.
look up under your clutch pedal for any leaking fluid around the master cylinder on the inside of the firewall.
also have somebody press the clutch and look at the slave cylinder for movement. you might have just lost pressure in teh system.

I would replace both slave and cylinder at the same time.

good luck man.

Re: Clutch engagement point

Thanks guys, I'll make sure to do all that.

Until I manage to free up some time to do that is it safe to drive ? What will I make worse if I continue to drive it like this ?
