Re: 1997 Prelude amp wiring

i ran mine power wire down my driver side, and remote and aux cables, down passenger sumtimes they give off a buzzing sound if close together, or you can remove the seats and run down the middle of the car..

Duct tape!
Seriously...4" strips every 6" or so.

Factory is down the right side, along the top of the dash and down to the radio. Sooooo, that area is already kinda crowded along the car. Down the center would be the place to run it imo.

Driver side is ok until you get to the dash area. The fuse panel area etc is pretty crowded.

Re: 1997 Prelude amp wiring

That is a good idea considering duct tape fixes everything :D
But I'm trying to transform it slowly so I can show it off at some small prelude meets where I live and keep everything neat and tidy

Re: 1997 Prelude amp wiring

Nice.

Unfortunately the Prelude meets are getting smaller and smaller across the planet.
Many owners see them as nothing more than cheap, reliable transportation. Meanwhile the enthusiasts have either moved onto other ventures, or stash their sorta vintage sports car for those special occasions.

define cheap...there are more cheaper cars like a civic or a corolla. IMO our cars are not cheap, I average 19.6 in the city. Haven't VtECed yet.

After I got my lude, I have seen maybe 5 ludes, including this one kid who parks close to me at school. all of them seem to not know what they have and i believe all the one I have seen are base models. I have not seen any Type-SH ludes in my city, other than mine of course.........

Re: 1997 Prelude amp wiring

got two subs both under my seat...wired from battery to passenger side through firewall around the passenger side area...all wires tucked underneath carpet on passenger side. I took my seats out to figure the best routing...the only thing going to the back are speaker wires.

Oh and i love my lude but bykfixer is right...my daily is a Kawi zzr600...i'm just saving up for turbo, steering, suspension upgrade.

Re: 1997 Prelude amp wiring

I got a problem here looking for help now

I got all my wires ran perfectly and all hidden in the trims got everything hooked up right to my knowledge :S

I guess my question is,where can I ground my amp to in the trunk?
how far away should my inline fuse be from the battery ?right now its currently beside the passenger shock tower zapped to some wires bundles

Its grounded straight to the chassis bare metal
Power is connected and has spark
and remote wire is connected as tight as possible

Yet my amp WILL NOT GET POWER ?!?! Ive done this many times and apparently it doesn't work like a regular car the prelude will not give the amp power for some reason !!!! Ive been at this for 2 days now I cant figure it out what am I missing ?!?! :(

Re: 1997 Prelude amp wiring

Nobody thinks you're stupid by any means...just inexperienced.

Thing is much info is written down somewhere because you are probably the 22,437th person to have this issue...so long long ago (in like 2007 or 8) folks wrote this stuff down. Problem is so many folks either don't know or won't spend an hour or two looking on the internet for written how to articles. I blame some on youtube being too easily accessed...

Look up member LilM and read her stuff. Between her and a couple other folks there is a bunch of info here at pz on car audio.

It's probably something simple you've over looked.

Re: 1997 Prelude amp wiring

Figured it out turns out the remote wire ended up coming loose from the wiring harness so I had to replace that whole wire solder it in and hot glue for extra security works amazing sadly had to change out my subs though ended up pounding out my tail lights and made a coolant hose come off way to much power apparently lol
