How to make my Prelude look like that?

Hello everybody,
this is my prelude:

I've installed 18" Vossen rims, but the car height is very big!
i want it to be lower...more exactly i want it to look like this (same height and fitment of the rims), what i need to do?

i asked few tuner shops and they tell me i must change my rims to another one because the current OFFSET of my rims is too big (as you can see in the pictures the rims are "going out" from the body of the car).
am i must change the rims? they cost me too much money...

thanks,
Guy

Clean lude bro, that gas grass ass sticker is hilarious!!! very true. well I'd say ask other shops if you can get your car lowered and get the wheels to not stick out but they do seem bigger than the ones on the blue prelude and worst case you can sell your rims and get other ones that fit.

Thats daves blue car.

Go check out the low offset thread on prelude power.

Adjustable upper balljoints and coilovers will get you close... but you will need to roll your fenders. The tire size looks a bit too large...overall wheel offset and with will affect how it sits as well.

Overall, I feel its stupid. But your car, I supplied the info you asked for

thanks man, but i prefer not to sell them i just bought them 2 months ago and i love them.
i try to find solutions to get the car lowered without change them, i heard that coilovers won't help and also camber kit will not help me because i will need a very big camber that is not fisible to drive with.

:/

so i need 2 items:
1) Adjustable upper balljoints
2) coilovers

?

what are the "Adjustable upper balljoints" use for? they are like camber kits? help me to tune the camber of the wheels like camber kits?

what does it mean to "roll your fenders"?

and why you think this is stupid? can i drive normally with the car after it?

thanks man,
Guy

Re: How to make my Prelude look like that?

Yes you need adjustable upper balljoints and coilovers

Yes adjustable balljoints are basically camber kits.

Rolling fenders means destroying your wheel well lip by bending it upwards with a roller giving more clearance for the wheel and tire.

Rolling never turns out perfectly. There will be imperfections and potential paint damage.

Your ride quality will suffer as well as your tire wear increasing.

Cars were not meant to be set up like that. But to each their own

Re: How to make my Prelude look like that?

Roll your fenders pretty much means to:
Heat up your fender
Pull it out to extend and cover over your tire.
You would be reshaping your fender, look it up on youtube or just google "how to roll fenders"

That blue lude looks tight, I kinda like it, but I don't like when wheels are slanted and you also would risk your fenders. You can do some serious damage to your car if you don't have the experience driving a lowered car. But its your car but in my opinion its not worth it. It looks like you did not do enough research or make a wise descion when you purchased those rims and tires. They look tight but it makes your car look like its got something stuck up its @$$. hahaha but in all seriousness you will most likely have to change your wheel setup.

So in the end its:
Your car VS Your current Rims

Which is more important to you?

yeah, then id say keep the rims and buy what you need to make em work if you want, they look nice that's for sure. im dealing with an opposite issue, i have some tiny ass tires and ppl think i raised the car lol.

Re: How to make my Prelude look like that?

What are the specs on the wheels and tires? Diameter and offset. Coilovers or even lowering springs will get you the height you want, and you want adjustable ball joints to help tuck the wheels camber in. Depending on wheel and tire specs, you could try and get it close .. you can get a decent fitment with what you have with it lowered and not have extreme tire wear.

Mighty Car Mods did a video on it. Seems easy enough and some people just ain't about that low life. Your tire wear is hilarious to see with any degree of camber due to it being slanted, you won't be able to drive as normal because clearance will be your biggest fear.

Speed bumps just became your worst enemy.

OR you can take the easy, terrible way and just cut your springs. Ignore everything else.

(I take no responsibility for what happens though.)

Re: How to make my Prelude look like that?

DON'T CUT YOUR SPRINGS!!!
DON'T GO FULL RETARD!!!

Looking pretty isn't cheap. So don't take the shortcut or it will shortly bite you right back in the @$$.

Hey,
The rear tire size is: 245/35/18
The front tire size is: 225/40/18

I'm not sure about the offset, i think the rear is 9.5 and the front is 8.5

What's your opinion?
