i have the AEM V2...a little expensive, but i definitely enjoy the hell out of it. Although I have no experience with the short ram, so therefore, no basis for comparison, I will just say that I recommend the V2. Ive actually noticed a 1-2 mpg improvement, I would mention a power gain of some sort but Im sure the one we all experience with just an intake is the good 'ole seat of the pants dyno. Anyways, i especially enjoy blipping the throttle and getting that "kinda turbo" sound. Hah. Its great though. You can actually hear it drawing air in when its idling and when youre going through the gears (even at 1/4 or 1/2 throttle) you can hear it sucking (in a good way).

Two very enthusiastic thumbs up.

P.S. Installation was a breeze also.

I've never read anything bad about the V2. However I've never read anything on an Injen. And I'm on practically every Prelude board there is.

Yea i've heard really good things about both. The AEM is a little expensive. I think the Injen is only around 150, but you get what you pay for right?!

no matter what you get, CAI/SRI/V2, the differences on a stock motor are gonna be marginal between all them. its not like your gonna install a V2 and be like... "oh wow, that 1hp loss in the low range is REALLY noticable" or w/e

Yeah thats true.. I noticed a change on my bike when i put on a nice Yoshi pipe and platinum plugs. It went from fast to fast. Haha. Yeah, I think I noticed how much better sounding it was.

I live in NY so i think i'm going to go with the injen SRI...unless i read something bad before spring!

Short Ram Intake installation questions...

Sucking up hot air is something to think about with sri. Hot air is better than water, right? haha

Well, the V2 doesnt extend down into the wheel well. Is stops right before the opning into the wheel well (which is protected from water by plastic panelling. Water is nothing to worry about with it.

Yea man, water is definitely not an issue...Well, in all fairness, before last week (when it rained for 4 days straight) we had been in a 31 day drought. So water wasnt going to be an issue either way. HAHA

So does the V2 get better low end power then the CAI and better high end power then the SRI?

Like everyone has said already, the difference in gains between each intake is HIGHLY marginal, probably not even a whole hp. So...its nothing to fret about man.

It's not the difference in power that I'm concerned with, because it is marginal, it's where that extra power is in the power band that I'm interested in knowing. Obviously the biggest complaint about 4-cylinders is that they don't have low-end power. You can either try and raise some of the low and mid-range power or you can get it to rev higher. Since my car is a DD I want the power in the low to mid range.

Yea I think I'm goin with the V2. It does get hot where I am but I dont wanna take the chances with the whole hydrolock sh*t. I know the gains are marginal alone, but with headers and exhaust you'll def see some gains right? Plus it'll sound alot better. Thinkin about the Greddy SP2 exhaust.

yep the short ram doesn't get as cold air as a cold air intake would, but the short ram gives more low to mid-range pull
