Whining belt?

I've heard that Honda's new timing belt, 14400-P13-014 instead of the -004, whines? Anyone have similar problems with their newer belt..as of June 06 i think?

Hey where did u herd that?? Mines whines allot at first I didn’t know what it was. but I think Its the belt that ****t is annoying me but the reason I got it change was because my oil leak I said to my self I mites well change it now. Nothing was wrong with my old one that came with the jdm engine I both 3months ago. It was also 14400-p13-014 it says UNITTA made in Japan and it did not give any noise or problem. The one I both was made in USA (both it at Kragen) I don’t know the # but I think is also a -014

They sell a spray at autozone or pepboys or Kragen that makes the noise go away...sometimes the pulleys and the belt are really dry and they start to make noise, or the belt tensioner is warn out so the belt has a bit too much slap and whines- i tried the spray it works pretty good =\

I read it in another forum, but the whine isn't a necessarily a bad, the belt is structurally fine if you just got it put in. This is the new belt Honda carries, and it just whines sometimes I guess. I have one but haven't installed it yet.

The belt should not whine unless it is too tight. I have never had a belt whine that was installed correct.
