Re: Timing? And adjustable gears?

stock you don't need to do anything.

This is why you need to degree your cams | KAIZENSPEED | KStuned.com

Re: Timing? And adjustable gears?

I believe the stock settings on adjustable cam gears are in the middle. The bolts should be straight in the middle, that's at 0. Then when the belt is on you can adjust the cams but to be safe just leave the adjustment bolts dead in the middle and make sure they are tight. Hope this helps

There should be marks on the cam gears, they should be listed in such a manner.

- i i i i 0 i i i i +

You should have the outer gear mark aligned up with the center 0. That should be at 0.

If you are able to post pictures that would help a great deal more.

Not sure what you are asking, but only way to tell if you have skunk 2 cams are to remove them from the head, and measure the lobes and see if they match the specs that Skunk2 has provided.

Re: Timing? And adjustable gears?

There has to be marks on them or they are not Skunk2 gears. They might be hard to see if you don't know what you are looking for. Once you find them put them in the middle as previously stated. That will be the equivalent of stock and it will run fine.

After you get it running and all is well you could try to move the gears some to get a little more horsepower or torque. The proper way to do this is take it to a tuner with a dyno and he will max out the hp from that engine with those gears. If you don't want to do this I could check my notes to tell you where you could set them and be safe. We always ran these on our race prelude before we sold it.

Actually the fact that that engine has dual cams is one reason you can get more hp out of it because you can adjust the intake cam and the exhaust cam in different directions as they require for better performance.

Or you could just reinstall stock gears and sell those for a $150.
