New around these parts ;)

Hey guy's, I'm NyaDC, been a Prelude owner for about 6 months now and I'm hooked. This is my car, it's a 1997 Base model and it was stock when I got it, I'm slowly adding things here and there. I just ordered a front/rear lip kit and side skirts for it which I'm going to have painted the same color, I also ordered the front bumper fog lights and the honeycomb grill with the Prelude emblem on it to replace this ugly slatted grill.

I'll be posting around here regularly from now on and this looks like a pretty good place to be. I'm kind of unsure of my ride height though, I think it is fine but I would like to hear from some others, should I stay here or go lower?

Welcome to The Zone. Ride height looks about perfect. Any lower and it would just be too low..Of course that is only my opinion but others will agree and disagree. Which lip kit did you order? A lot of people swap to the honeycomb grill, it's a popular early model 5g swap. Ride looks clean as h3ll with those rims. Again...Welcome.

Thanks man I appreciate it, I went with these for the lips and skirts, I wanted to keep the car looking as OEM as possible, I'm not a fan of the exaggerated look that some people like on their cars.

Excellent choice. I also prefer the oem look over most any aftermarket aggressive looking kit.

I've always been a fan of only 5 spoke rims on 5th gens but damn those rims look amazing on your lude, great job so far keeping it clean.

I was originally thinking of getting these rims but I just really liked the ones I ended up going with, they ended up looking pretty nice.

Thanks, I try to keep my stuff as clean as I can, I see so many people neglect their cars and it just annoys me.

Rims looks great.
Interested to know how the fitment of that kit turns out, was thinking of ordering the same one.

Re: New around these parts ;)

If you got the car with stock ride height, how much did you lower it? It is pretty darn perfect and I'd love to match it if you don't mind sharing :)

Also, what size wheels are those?

Welcome!

It turned out pretty good and fits well, I had to jimmy rig it a bit but it went on without a major hassle, I did the paint myself as well, I ordered it a long time ago but finally put it on over the weekend.

Honestly it completely changed the look of the car as you can tell compared to the pictures I first posted here, I also got the honeycomb grill with the prelude emblem and the front fog lights.

I'm using adjustable coil-overs but if I had to estimate I would say about a 2" drop or so, and the wheels are 17's.
