Icon5 Whats a good upgrade from OEM Shocks and Springs?

Hey guys, i'm looking into getting new suspension, and i was wondering what i can get for the best bang for the buck. I dont race at all, or do track, more of just a daily driver. Something i'm looking for though is adjusting ride height, and having a fairly smooth to stiff ride.

I read some posts about koni yellows/GC Coilover kits were pretty good, and i was also looking at BWR SS Coilover set, but never found any real reviews about it. I'm not trying to really break bank, but to spend a little under $1200.

Suggestions is highly appreciated, thanks!

Koni yellow + GC sleeves + eibach springs is always a sure winner. Picking your own spring rates (when ordering) and the adjustable damper makes them very customisable to your personal preference. At around $1K + install (if you aren't DIYing) it's not the cheapest option if all you want is some extra low. If it's in your price range then go for it though.

Many have had good luck with some better than stock non-adjustable shocks (Bilstein sport, KYB etc.) with some Eibach lows for around the $650-$750 mark, getting you only about 1.5" drop though.

For a DD, coilovers are generally regarded as being too stiff. I ran Tein Superstreets in my DD for a few years doing short trips with no problems, long trips were very tiresome though. You can find plenty of brands for under $1k, but you're taking a chance with them. Plenty of people will swear by them but for the price why not get something tried-and-true. Also, if you blow a shock in a coilover you're up for a full set to fix them, if you blow a koni then you only need to buy one.

Sorry, this site gets inundated with these kinds of questions which is probably why nobody responded (or the fact the prelude community is dying a slow weary death). I believe there are a number of reviews in the review section of this site which you could peruse for some feedback too.
