What is the name of this piece?

Alright....so I have heard a metallic rattling anytime that my engine is running for a little now, but I was unable to pinpoint it. There has not been any type of issue because of the rattling, but it is still annoying to hear something that shouldn't be there.

Fast forward to yesterday when I was changing the oil. When I was trying to take off the filter I bumped into this piece that is the source of the rattle. There are 2 bolts that are missing which will mount it to the block. I just need to find out what the piece is called so that I can buy bolts to get this piece set back in place. Hopefully I can find out what the ft/lb of torque that the bolts are as well. If you know the name of this please let me know so that I can remedy this annoyance.

Re: What is the name of this piece?

You should be able to find the torque specs in the resource guide. I know on the 3rd gens all 3 bolts are the same size and length. If you use a standard 3/8 ratchet, tightening those bolts until they are "pretty snug"should be tight enough, but torqing them to the proper specs is ALWAYS best practice.

Re: What is the name of this piece?

P/N 95701-08018-08.
About a buck each at your dealer or...
71 at Majestic with about $10 s&h.

I just ordered a pair and the stay as mine were missing.

You can find it in 'intake manifold' at majestic where you'll see what other parts might be missing. If you need vacuum tank parts you can find that in 'intake pipe'.

Torque spec can be found in the service manual in the 'intake' chapter.

Re: What is the name of this piece?

You are all awesome. I appreciate it. I wouldn't have even known where to begin looking since it is such a seemingly random (to me) piece that was just hanging. I knew that if I was able to get help with the name of the piece (thank you for that), that I would be able to find the specs in the manual.

Thank you again!

A good rule of thumb is to search (majestic honda) under the general part system, i.e. intake manifold, power steering pump, engine block, camshaft, timing belt, A/C system, etc...

I used majestic for reference until trying the member Luzer reccomended Honda Parts Now site. Their search feature is handy in that when you type in the part number a list of other models the part fits is populated. If you go into the Acura site same applies for those cars as in a part used in a prelude may have also been used in a TL...
As a bonus they keep discontinued parts listed longer than majestic for obtaining the correct name for said part.
I have also found customer support with hpn better than majestic when trying to locate correct parts or when there is a doubt they sent me the wrong item. Majestic just says 'we sent you the right part'.

Edit:
Another good one is OEMacuraparts. Tim was a big help when I was trying to source 'secret' part numbers like pins and other electrical items.
