Icon2 H22 W/ F23 Trans Help

Whats up everyone, I bought my 1998 Honda prelude a year ago, base w/ auto trans. A couple of months in, trans died on me. Trans was swapped to P2A8 trans from an accord. Problem is now i have check engine light with code P0700 - Transmission Control System. I'm not sure how to fix this and im coming to the place I always do to get answers. I believe it has something to do with the ECU but idk. First time posting, complete NOOB right now but hopefully with your help I can gain a bit of experience. Thank you in advance.

This is what I found next to my ECU. Could this be the problem? and what do i need to do to fix it? or replace?

I believe there are a couple wires under the hood that need spliced together from the auto trans and a resistor that needs moved in the ecu to prevent auto trans codes from showing up. That box that you are showing there should be your transmission control module (TCM) from the auto trans, it is worthless to you now, haha. What guide did you follow to do your 5 speed swap?

Thanks for your response! Any idea which wires need to be spliced together? And where the resistor should go? To be honest, when the tranny died on me I was super discouraged and just wanted my baby fixed so I brought it to a mechanic to do it for me. I guess the job wasn't complete.

There are a few write-ups floating around online that show how to do it. This: RomPirate’s 5spd Swap Resource Thread - Honda Prelude Forum : Honda Prelude Forums is the main one I used to do my 5 speed swap. There were a few others too but RomPirates write-up is the best in my opinion.

Dude, you are the best! Now, if i buy a different ECU. Let's say a manual ECU for my prelude, would I still have to do all that or no? And which ECU should I buy? I have a 1998 Honda Prelude base model. Any serial #?

You would still have to change the under hood wiring. Changing to a manual ecu requires reprogramming the immobilizer which = $$$. I would keep the auto ecu and modify it (or have someone else mod it for you) or go OBD1 if you plan on doing any reasonable amount of power mods.
