Icon13 98 Prelude Not Starting NEED HELP!!!

I just Traded a 91 Civic hatch with a swap for a 98 Prelude sh. Well the guy i traded didn't tell me it needed a lot of work. so i drove it home and found out it needed a head gasket and so on. i replaced a Water pump,Timing Belt,Tensioner, Head Gasket, valve Cover gasket, Oil Pump and oil pan gasket. Put it all back together and now it wont start.

So heres What i got so far

-It Has spark and fuel
-timing is all lined up
- New Spark plugs
-it fires but doesn't start just coughs and sputters

i am really lost on this and don't know where to start. been working on this for a couple of days trying to get it started but have got no where.

Make sure the spark plug wires are connected to the distributor in the right order.

Been there before. Ruined a good Holley 850 from it.
Also did you re-connect your tdc/cps sensors properly?
Are you absolutely, positively sure it's in time?

Re: 98 Prelude Not Starting NEED HELP!!!

the firing order for Honda 4 cylinders is 1342. definitely make sure the wires are correctly connected to the distributor using this picture:

This to me, sounds like a timing issue though, especially if you drove the car home. H's can be a little tricky to time so quadruple check your marks my man.

later.

Re: 98 Prelude Not Starting NEED HELP!!!

My 99 sh is doing the same thing. The only thing i have verified is spark going to the spark plugs. Next will be testing for fuel. Let me know if you figure out what it is.
