5th gen rear wheel arch panels

I saw the post from the guy in Poland who's selling 4th gen partial quarter panels and I need exactly that type of panel for my 5th gen on both sides. She's getting eaten alive by rust from the salt they use in the Midwest in winter. The 4th gen looks close, but I'm sure they won't fit. Can anyone tell me where to get this type of panel or rear quarters--can't find anything around here.
5K to put complete quarters sucks.

lol check a junk yard man. You will need tools, welding and metal working skills since this isn't a bolt on deal. This isn't a simple weekend shade tree project if you want it done right.

Re: 5th gen rear wheel arch panels

^^ agreed.

My local junkyard will cut them for you for $50 plus cost of the panel. About $130 per panel.
That's the easy part. Then cutting out the old, fabricating in the new and matching the cars color...that's the expensive part.

Clean up the metal now and soak dem panels with locktite rust convertor now before weather hits this winter. We used it on a quarter size rust hole on a 4th about a year ago that is still quarter sized. We re-apply each season and apply a skim of grease over the treated area. I think it's been 2 years now...maybe three.

Re: 5th gen rear wheel arch panels

I know exactly how much work is involved and that it's costly. I can't find the panels anywhere near Central Illinois without going thru the dealer and buying whole quarters at $1200.00 a pop. I'd also entertain the thought of a wheel arch from something else, but nothing's close.I can't believe with every one around that I see rusting in the same places, that no one makes a patch/arch.

Re: 5th gen rear wheel arch panels

I forgot to mention I've checked every boneyard between Peoria and Chicago and all the 5th gen Ludes are rusted the same as mine...

Rust never sleeps.

Fiberglass don't rust.

Re: 5th gen rear wheel arch panels

Driver's side isn't too bad yet--passenger side is really eaten up and down into the lower panel behind the door too.
I'm thinking fiberglass more and more as I've done that...
