SH questions

Is there any difference in the doors other than courtesy lights? Is the wiring harness different to the door?

How bad are these atts's about going bad?

Wiring harness in the engine bay the same as a base?

Re: SH questions

There are 2 more wires for the door harness to power the lights you speak of.

The atts is pretty durable. It's all the sensors that tend to become corrupted with road grime.

Wire harness? Eh, yeah pretty much the same.

Re: SH questions

Base doors on a sh with SH panel and switches work then?

I know it's common practice for one harness on many vehicles but not sure about these.

Re: SH questions

I have a base door on my SH. You just have to swap out harnesses. Snot hard at all.
Your base harness doesn't have the pair of wires for the courtesy lights. Other than that it's the same. Connector at the fender is the same. But it has two more pins for said wires that the base one doesn't have. Just remove the base harness, pay attention to the keeper points so when you install your SH harness your wires will be fastened to the door like they were.

Re: SH questions

Went and got the door today. Looks like I'll need to find a mirror also. Both of these are broken.

A tip for anyone who gets junk yard headlights. Maguires ultimate compound works great taking the yellow off.

Re: SH questions

Prelude1897 may have one for sale from a part out if your exterior is still good.

The switch is also used in accords from that era if your switch is the issue

Re: SH questions

Fairly sure the switch in the donor and wrecked door are good.Think the handles on both need bars reconnected.

Oh looking at the manual earlier it didn't specify SH model when it showed the door assembly and showed a courtesy connector on the harness. Looks like same part number also. I'll find out in the next couple days when I pull the panels I guess.

Update: It may be same part number now but these doors I have are different.

Re: SH questions

Anything weird with these cars that would make the horn blow after a light fender bender when a battery is connected? None of the harness leading to the horn was near any damage and I can't see any damage.

Re: SH questions

Nothing in particular with these cars.

Sounds like something somewhere is causing the circuit to be closed.

Check out chapter 23 of the service manual. It'll show you where the horn wires go. Pages in the 40's I think. Been trying to solve an issue my own self is why I remember pages..ask me in a month and I'll be like 'chapter what?' lol.

Re: SH questions

I'm an idiot. After switching horns and trying to trouble shoot. It's the damn alarm.

Smells like the egr needs cleaned bad and atts is spitting out codes.
