5th Gen Lightbulb Holders Are Crap!!

Has anyone had an issue with the lightbulb holders for the 5th gens? The holders are constantly overheating and burning out the bulbs. I purchased the prelude back in May of last year and have been through about 6 light bulbs already. Any mods that your guys have come up with or something to help them out?

Which bulbs? Headlight? TailLight, turning signal?
I have found the headlight holders to be fine, but if you are putting any fancy aftermarket bulbs in them, just keep in mind they were engineered for stock bulbs, and not some high wattage aftermarket bulb.

This is just the regular low beam headlight sockets. I dont have any aftermarket bulbs or anything, they are 100% OEM. The bulb just seems to fit loosely in the socket and like I said, I been through about 6 sets of bulbs. The picture is obviously the stock socket, its the one that has been giving me issues.

Mine are fine. They are original from 97.
The wobble thing...could be yours are just worn out.
Or...dig this...you may have a ground that isn't quite so stellar anymore. The getting hot and burning out quick things tells me it is either bad contact in the circuit somewhere or corroded recepticles (or both).

Give your recepticles and wires a good look see at the connections and scrape the inside of said recepticles with a wire tool like a battery post cleaner (w/battery disconnected of course) and check the connection points at both ends of the wiring.
Had a 91 that kept blowing a bulb. New recepticle later, the bulb lasted normal.

Im thinking you could be correct, the bulb holder itself does appear to have a small amount of heat damage to it. Not enough to cause it not to work yet, but definitely would need replacing down the road if I dont figure out the problem. Will have my one buddy take a look at it, hes got pretty good background with electronics in vehicles. Thanks guys.
