H22 with f22 trans and 12lb flywheel???

I have a 5th gen and going to put on a h22 with a f22 trans (m2l5 I think, prelude s) and a resurfaced 12lb flywheel, and a oem clutch. This is going to be my current set up on my car once I get my 5 speed swap done. Sounds kinda weird I know but hey I keep getting good prices on parts so I'll buy them haha. It's my dd and I deliver pizza (be jealous I get to drive my lude 4+ hours a day:P) but I'm wondering how this would drive? I feel like the lightweight flywheel will make the f22 trans feel a bit faster? I'm not sure.

Anyone have real world experience with this set up? I need advice and comments

I've been looking for info on this for weeks so I thought I'd finally ask

Re: H22 with f22 trans and 12lb flywheel???

When I first bought my 97 SH ( 10 years ago ), I had a lightened unorthadox pulley and flywheel kit put on. Better throttle response, but at the same time, you need to give it more gas in 1st gear, as since you don't have the heavy flywheel to keep the inertia going, the engine will easily stall out. It usually takes 2 tries to start the car when its cool as well. Shifting is more tempermental too, but in the long term is definitely worth it. Any heavy rotating mass is going to reduce performance not to mention fuel consumption.

A little info on the benefits of a lightweight flywheel: UUC * How a lightweight flywheel works

Keep in mind though, with the taller gearing in that F22 trans and a lightweight flywheel, you will definitely fall out of VTEC when switching gears.

Re: H22 with f22 trans and 12lb flywheel???

Well thanks for the info but I should have stated that I understand how lightweight flywheels work sorry.

So if I had a shorter geared trans then I'd stay in vtec easier? I figured that it would stay in vtec because of the longer gears? Cuz it would take longer to fall since the gears are longer? Kinda seems backwards

Re: H22 with f22 trans and 12lb flywheel???

In transmissions with taller gearing, there is a bigger drop in RPMs when upshifting. Say (using arbitrary numbers) shifting from 2nd to 3rd gear with an H22 trans, you shift at 7200 and the RPMs drop to 5300. If you had an H23 trans (slightly taller gearing), you shift at 7200 and the RPMS drop to 5100 (out of VTEC). If you had an F22 trans (tallest gearing of the three), you shift at 7200 and the RPMs drop to 4900 (even farther out of VTEC).

Sorry, I hope that was understandable, I'm tired and somewhat incoherent. I hope it makes sense for you.

BTW, my previous posts was aimed at the guy who posted stupidly at random 50 times for whatever reason. Got himself the ban hammer.
