Water leaking into car.

Today it stormed and when I was driving home I noticed water dribbling down my passenger C pillar where it meets the quarter panel piece.
I pulled it off and it was pretty dry and really couldn't find where the leak was coming. There was a little bit of water around the corner of the quarter glass as you can see in the picture. I'm not sure if it's coming from there, I'm going to pull off the panel next time it rains and watch it closer.
Anyone ever have a problem like this? The entire headliner is dry, seats, and rear deck are bone dry also. I'm going to let It dry and fill up that space in the quarter glass with silicone to see if it stops.

Re: Water leaking into car.

Mine leaks into the crevice where the driver side rear seatbelt harness attaches to the car...and it only happens sometimes.
I suspect it's where those rails on the roof meet the rear glass. Like yours, all else is dry.

Don't happen enough or bad enough to remember to investigate it. I figure on removing some trim and spray that portion of the car with water from differing angles to see if I can get it to leak.

Re: Water leaking into car.

Did a little looking today at my car. Yours is much nicer. I've yet to install those nice door gaskets you sent me...anyway because of my glaring gaps between the door and vertical trim portion on the rear quarter window, in my car I could envision some water entering into that crevice while driving in the rain.
I wonder if time has allowed your rear quarter trim to break some of the seal in a way that allows the water that would normally shed down the door pillar to find it's way inside the car.

Re: Water leaking into car.

The drain for the sunroof runs down the rear pillars. Maybe yours is clogged and over flowing.? Maybe it has a leak and is sealing out? Take it down and inspect the drain hose for your sunroof before you "seal" that are and have bigger issues. Not sure if it's driver side, passenger side, or both

If your Prelude is equipped with a sunroof, I would check that seal first. While you're inside the car, have someone outside the car spray it with a garden hose to see if you can duplicate the leak. BTW; nice stance!

Re: Water leaking into car.

I don't think those "rails" on the roof seal up anything, I think they're just for show. I've seen pictures of them removed and there's nothing but clips underneath them to hold them onto the roof.

Yeah I'm most likely going to have someone pour water onto the car around that area with the panel off and me inside, I'm hoping it's the quarter glass rather then the rear windshield leaking.

The sunroof drains were one of the first things that came to mind when I saw the water, but there's no way for them to leak inside the car near the c pillar. Either they leak near the sunroof which would cause my headliner to be soaked which isn't or they leak inside the trunk and my trunk is dry.

Thanks for the complement SilentRon.

Re: Water leaking into car.

I was speaking in terms of where the rails meet the windows.
That maybe there's an unseen gap from the rails moving back n forth over time.
