Re: auto to five speed swap ??????

This has been done a million times. I know there is a step-by-step write-up for it as well. Search around here, as well as preludeonline, Honda-Tech, and preludepower.

Re: auto to five speed swap ??????

You can use your automatic ecu, you just need to move a resistor to the other side of the board. There's a write up somewhere I'll try and find it later. It's really simple but the resistor is super tiny.

If you decide to use the manual ecu from a donor car, make sure to also grab these:
Immobilizer
Ignition key
Key reader (Little black circle you insert the key into)
Key cylinder Mainly the ignition cylinder but you can also grab the ones for the door, trunk, glove box etc if you want to swap them out and use just one key. If not just keep two keys

I used the manual ECU for my swap from my parts car. Everything will swap over and work just fine. I kept the key cylinders for the doors trunk etc but I'm too lazy to swap them out so I just keep my old key on my key ring.

I've seen some people sell the complete swap excluding ecu immoblizer etc for around 1,000. But you can find the parts much cheaper.

I'd rather do the swap. You learn a lot, it's fun and a lot of people can't just sell their car and buy another, especially if you've already put money into it.

that's why you fix your Auto ecu to be Manual ecu by simply moving a resistor

Re: auto to five speed swap ??????

Check out 01preludeblue member ride thread as well he mentions some cautions based on his experience installing the parts.

And keep your local junkyard on your speed dial for those last minute items that you either forgot or got broken.
