5th Gen Foglights

Hey guys, how's it going? I'm new here so I hope I'm doing this correctly.

I bought a '98 Base Prelude last year as my first car, and boy I gotta say, I love it! Great ride, smooth, really fun to drive, you know how is.

Now I'm just trying to make her look a little better. My headlights are kinda dim, and I can see that they're slowly burning out. I will have to replace them eventually. I often drive up north and find it difficult to see at night driving on the country road. There's a lot of dear out there so I don't want to smash into one if you know what I mean.

long story short, I'm looking to get a foglight kit. This would be my first time doing this, so I'm a noob and don't really know the difference between a good or bad kit. With that being said, I don't know what kind of fog light kit to choose. I've looked all over ebay and there's dozens of different ones sold by different people. Some are expensive, while others are more generic and cheaper looking. I'm not looking to spend too much cash. Just something that would give me the most bang for my buck. Would anyone have any recommendations for a good fog-light kit? I'd really appreciate it.

Oh and I also noticed that some come with HID conversion kits. Are they worth it?
Thanks.

Re: 5th Gen Foglights

Go to a pick n pull and take some stock ones, could get a nice pair easy cheap like that, there're numerous write ups on oem fog installations just gotta look around

Foglights are awesome too, use them as DRLs mostly brightens up the road well at night too, also think about cleaning your head lights?

Post pics when you do it!

I'd rather lose by a mile because I built my own car than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.

Yup, those are the good replica ones.

I bought the clear ones from K2 and they're great. However, I have heard that the bulbs that come with it burn out pretty quick. So take note of that.

Don't waste your time and money with ebay knock offs. You should buy the authentic jdm or usdm foglight kit. That v2 kit is made in china. You don't want to put Chinese parts in your japanese car do you?

Re: 5th Gen Foglights

Check car-part.com for some used usdm type.

Don't spend a lot of dough on those foglights just in case you end up hitting one of those dear.

Try some 3m lens restore on your headlights. And if you have jdm headlights, the reflectors naturally aim to the right for driving a right hand drive car. They'll always seem dull to the driver. Passenger can see just fine.lol

this is the truth. the JDM fogs are awesome, super easy to install because since they are the real deal and MADE FOR OUR CAR the wiring is already ran to the front of the car. its literally plug and play. 30 minute install. i went JDM and glad i did. I cant tell you how many other members went eBay for those reps/v2 whatever they are, and had stuff burn out or are now buying JDM ones. spend your money right the first time.
got mine from icb Prelude BB6 Type S Spec SiR oh look what do you know, there on sale. its a sign
