clutch problems, new member

hey guys just got my first car, its a 1998 prelude type SH. had it for a few weeks now and it runs great but one thing I noticed right away was that the throwout bearing makes noise when changing gears, like its winding down and you can feel it in the pedal. so heres what happened, one night i go to move it from one side of my driveway to the other because it was in the way and it worked fine. The next morning i go to drive it and there was no clutch. wont go into any gear but the pedal still has as much pressure as ever. so could it be the master or slave? or does the clutch have to be replaced. it seems weird because it happened so suddenly that it cant be the clutch, yet the slave cylinder still pushes the fork. maybe not enough? sorry for the long post just trying to be detailed and thanks for any help :)

Yeah could be. Does your car have had clutch replaced ever? If you need transmission parts synchrotech has all kind of them

Try to adjust it first?

Check your clutch fluid level...if it is very low or pretty much empty you will also need to bleed the system. It is strange that the pedal feels the same to you though. I wonder if possibly your throwout bearing still has something to do with it, possibly seized on the input shaft and the fork is hitting against it but not able to push the bearing back against the clutch to engage it...don't hear about that a lot but have seen a throwout bearing seized on the shaft before.

Re: clutch problems, new member

Not to thread jack, but I have a similar problem and saw no need for a new thread. My slave and master cylinder have been replaced on my 97 base, but when you put it into any gear, 1st-5th and reverse, it makes a clicking noise under 2k rpms. I was told it could be my throw out bearing, but just would rather ask before tearing the car apart since it was a 1 owner car with 89k on it.
