OEM Spoiler Wiring

Been thinking about removing the OEM spoiler on my BB6. My question is if anybody has had any experience removing the wiring inside of the spoiler and hooking the brake light back up. Any advice, write ups, etc? Did a search and could not find anything.

Thanks!

Not sure what you're trying to do...

Do you:

1) Want to remove the brake light from the spoiler and reuse it?

or

2) Have the third brake light inside your car and simply want to hook that up after you remove your spoiler?

If it's 1), all you need is a wrench/socket to remove the spoiler, then a screwdriver to remove the light assembly. It's pretty straightforward, once you see it you should be able to figure it out.

If it's 2), again remove the spoiler, then just swap the connector over from the spoiler to the third brake light.

Re: OEM Spoiler Wiring

^ i guessing its number 2.

leave the wire in the spoiler alone. just follow it see where it runs inside the car, then just splice it or reconnect it that way. plug from spoiler isnt same plug as light inside the car.

Re: OEM Spoiler Wiring

anybody know the size of the holes to plug those up? I was thinking about getting some white plugs to simply cap them off (dont have money for body work).

Thanks

Stop being lazy and just go grab a tape measure dude lmfao. I've taken mine off and just left holes in there right now since my car's black and isn't really noticeable and the holes are on the outside of the weather stripping so no leaks. I'm keeping my eyes open for some plastic plugs that have a flush head. A few more months and imma just RTV them shut and smooth it out.
