H22a1 issues

Alright so I have the h22a1 in my 2000 prelude. It is a 5spd car. It still has the p5p ecu in it. Is that a problem? I didn't do the swap I got the car that way. I've tried everything I've seen about "deleting" the iac and come up short on every trial. It was running very rich and seemed to have the timing retarded a bit. I unplugged the map sensor to see if anything changed and now it runs like total crap. Very very rich. Huge retardation in timing. What else could be wrong? I do not have a scan tool and I don't feel it safe to drive to O'Reilly to get it checked out. This car just keeps becoming more and more of a headache. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Re: H22a1 issues

Also. I did plug the map sensor back in and unhooked the battery for about 20 minutes and started it back up. It's been a stressful day with this car. I thought the h22a1 was an obd1 car which required like the p28 or whatever.

Re: H22a1 issues

well you can try finding the stock ecu for the h22a1, see if someone lets you borrow it for testing. or buy one and send it back if it doesnt work. i have a f22a1 and i had a pr4 ecu in my car. it ran like total crap. low idle, wasnt giving that umph when i gave it gas at the light. found the stock ecu in my trunk(bought the car with the pr4 ecu installed so i didnt know until i looked at it.) and plugged that one in and my car runs great. better than when i first had it.
