Just bought my 5th gen, motor blew!

I just bought my very first Prelude last week. It's a 2000 SH. It has an intake, exhaust, and racing clutch. The day after i bought it the engine blew! They said it overheated and threw a rod. It's having a new motor (semi-new) put in right now. What are some things I need to look for?? Not very mechanically inclined

The car only had 35,000 mi on it when I bought it. This motor has 30k on it. Any problems typical that I should keep my eye on?

well if the motor didnt come out of an sh lude your screwed because the blocks are different and the atts ( its what makes your car a sh in a nut shell ) will not bolt up and the tranny will not fit. if that is the case you could get the jdm type-s motor and tranny ( jdm = japan demestic market if you didnt know that ) the type-s has 220 hp were the usa h22a4 only has like 190/195

Well all I know right now is the car is coming from Japan and has 30k mi on it. I guess I just automatically assumed it was going to be an SH motor. Guess I ought to check into that huh? I'm sure the mechanice that's doin it knows that right? And if not i guess he'll keep fixin it till it's right! I want my damn car back though!!!:damnit:

The motor is coming from Japan I mean, not the car.

if it only had 35000 miles on it, i would guess it had hardly ever been serviced honda engines when serviced r meant 2 b almost bullet proof.
