Re: Fuel leak beside rear driver wheel, help please

Trace down the fuel lines, and see if you can visually see the leak. It would help a lot if you have someone turn the key to on a bunch of times to let the fuel pump prime, building fuel pressure which should make the fuel piss out of where its leaking. One thing is that where the leak drips, isn't necessarily where the leak is. It travels through crevices around the bay, or undercarriage with the least resistance until it drops to the ground.

Best way to locate leaks is to wash down the bay real good with degreaser and water, and the undercarriage as well. Scrub it real good, and when you spray the bay with water have the engine running. Just don't spray down the electrical parts as much, give them a quick rinse until the soap is gone. But just don't overload them with water. Same with air filter.

Best degreaser is dish detergent with a damp Mitt

Re: Fuel leak beside rear driver wheel, help please

New pics in original post above, I Took the plastic guard off and now I face a nightmare. Does anyone know the name of the corroded line? I was wondering if I can pop this part out (the metal) and place a new one in? It looks like a metal tube fitted between two rubber lines.

How much would this cost to change?

Re: Fuel leak beside rear driver wheel, help please

Look on a honda parts diagram. Hondapartscheap.com

Trace the line to see where it goes. If it goes above the fuel tank, then remove your rear seats or trunk interior to get to the fuel pump access cover and you can possibly see where that line runs under there. Then when you have the best idea of where it goes, see if you can figure it out from Honda, order the line and replace it. If not then a shop could probably do it for under $200 but be sure that's the line that needs replacement, and show them exactly what you want done. So it stops them from having to do the diagnosis.

If your lucky the might be able to repair the line by cutting that end out, and then fitting a new piece onto that, however that could run the risk of leaks. But if a shop does it then it's their problem if done wrong.

Check the plastic clip too. The line does look corroded yes, but it could of corroded because of the fuel that leaked onto it. I would check the hoses and the plastic connectors for cracks, breaks, pinholes, Etc...

$1000 to change a fuel line?

I'm in the wrong line of work.

You guys checked out your evap canisters? They clog sometimes.

At 95: Snap on is making some Fed approved fuel line couplings these days. I had one installed on my truck a couple years ago. $27 + labor. Less than $75 total.
