2000 Prelude Electrical/Tansmission/Ignition problem

I have an 2000 Automatic Base (obviously) for about 3 months now with now major problems until today. I was driving around for maybe 45 mins, and I stopped to turn the car off and it wouldn't get out of drive and I was able to take the keys out of the ignition. as far as I know you can only take them out when the car is in park. when I put the key back in it wouldn't start, and none of the electrical components wouldn't work either. when I was about to call a tow truck, it magically started to work and start, and I was able to get it out of drive. BUT, now when I put the car in park, it wont get out of park unless I turn the ignition OFF, and start it again. The CEL is on and throwing code 420, which according to my Haynes manual, is a problem with the o2 sensor or catalytic convertor. Anyone know what is wrong before I take it to a shop so I can fix it myself? ive searched the web with no luck.

See if it'll start in nuetral next time. And/or wiggle the key in the ignition next time it plagues you.

All Gen. Prelude Service Manuals
Chapter 14 if memory serves.

Good luck.

Follow the cable under the car to the transmission. Make sure that the two bolts that mount it to the transmission are secured properly. If thats not it, Id stick the key in the slot next to the gear shift. See if that unlocks it and lets you move it. Hold your brake while you do this.
