Icon9 Prelude tiptronic

Hi everyone ! Im from Argentina and im a proud owner of a beatifull silver 98' honda Prelude.
Ritght now my baby it's in my mechanic workshop having some troubles with it gearbox (tiptronic).
I know that everybody advise that I should swap to manual 5 speed gearbox, but thats quite hard here because it's not simple to get one and its really expensive making the swap between them.
So, its anyway to modify the ECU ? is there any high performance kit to rebuild the gearbox ? any solution that doesnt involve changing the gearbox ?
Besides I wanted to know how many HP i would get with a performance kit installed ?

Please answer ASP !

Re: Prelude tiptronic

There are no real definitive auto tranny build ups for these transmission you have. And what is available to make it race ready is pretty darn expensive if it's still even being done in California.

Best bet is to read the 5th gen auto tranny failure thread here at pz. And along with that search 'failing Honda auto transmissions' as there is lot's of info to keep it running longer.

You may have a solenoid failing, or you may have the whole thing going.
Read up and see what you discover.
