Suspension Help

Hey guys! I have a 1997 Honda Prelude (Base) with a few mods (will post pics soon). I was wondering what type of performance suspension most people use? Looking for a set of coil-overs and adjustable ball bearings (camber control).

There are a ton of brands out there, but i don't know what ones are good.

Thanks,

The Stank.

Re: Suspension Help

You got coodies or something?

Ebay stuff is the best. And it's cheaper. Sometimes it's free.

Do some searching dawg

Don't listen to this guy, except about the searching... do that. Love the lowrider tho.

Pillow ball mounts don't do **** in a double wishbone suspension either, that's not how camber is controlled on Prelude's.

Re: Suspension Help

research, research, research, and when you find what you want, research some more.

but you cant go wrong with koni yellows and ground controls, and or function and form.
function and form now offer custom spring rates from eibach so you might check into that.
good luck pal

Always particular to stock.....

Bilstein and 1.5" drop eibachs gives a great ride and just enough gap.

Re: Suspension Help

I would start out with some quality replacement ball joints, moog IMO
Steering pack, moog
Bushings, energy suspension has a master kit, plus a few other kits also.
Then get coilovers...
As far as coilover brands, there's a few things to look at when deciding.
Purpose is number 1. Are you going to be taking the lude on a track? Or just daily drive it? Weekend driver? They have different coilovers from all different brands, that offer different levels of performance and ride quality for different purposes.... Get the point? Lol
Number 2 is obviously budget. What are you willing to spend? Coilovers range from $700 up. Pick a budget and look at all the different setups in your price range
Number 3 is reviews. There are thousands of posts alone on this site that discuss ride quality, performance, ease of adjustment, etc, etc

So the search bar will be your best friend.

Some brands to look at that I didn't see mentioned in this thread yet are, Megan racing, tien, bc, and there are tons more.

Also to cover the eBay thing. eBay is a great place to get parts. But buy name brand stuff from reputable sellers. Don't buy used suspension components, unless you see them in person, and trust the seller. I still wouldn't after that though because you really wanna trust a used suspension component? You don't know what kind of wear and tear they have been through......
Good luck
