Icon5 HELP! New Distributor cap and rotor wears out quickly...

Its been awhile since I been on here.

But anyways I just bought a new distributor cap and rotor not to long ago. Ive driven my lude for less than 1000 miles, and already the parts have gone bad. Can someone tell me what the cause of the problem is and where do I start from to fix this problem?

Prior to this problem the previous distributor cap (bought new) had a crack in one of the spark plug connections, to where you can just snap it off, after driving it less than 1000 miles once again. Took that off and saw the rotor was not screwed on (yes i screwed it on prior to driving), so the rotor was free spinning. The rotor too had a crack near the screw.

Please help a fellow Prelude owner.

I would try a different distributor. find a used one and change out the ICM put new rotor and make sure you have the right cap

I've found that non-factory rotors tend to come loose like you describe. Try using Honda parts on this one.

Ok I'll try that. But another problem has popped up. Now my car will not start, after having the distributor cap and rotor and new spark plugs put in. Everything electrical turns on, but when you try to start the engine, you can hear it trying to start up but it's not. Where do i begin from there? Btw thanks for the help.
