0 oil pressure.

Okay, I've tried chasing this enough and it's time to ask for some help. got a h22a4 and have no oil pressure. thought it was a leaking pick up. pulled the pan and pump. checked the pump. seemed fine. resealed the pickup and reinstalled everything , primed the pump and still no oil pressure. pulled the filter and it's dry. pulled the oil cooler and it doesn't have oil in there either. tried cranking it with both off and no pressure. pulled the oil pump priming plug and stuck my finger in there, cranked it with my finger in there and no pressure or oil being slung onto my finger. tired of chasing this. Any suggestions?

Re: 0 oil pressure.

If the pickup isn't cracked anywhere, it has to be the pump since that's what provides pressure.
When you say you checked the pump, what did you do? Check the clearance of the internal gears?
But also double and triple check the pickup for cracks, cuz the pressure would simply leak out the crack and back into the pan, providing 0 pressure to the rest of the engine.

Re: 0 oil pressure.

Welp. swapped the pump with a different one and still nothing. swapped the pickup too and no change.

Re: 0 oil pressure.

Hmm so filled with oil each time and after cranking - nothing in even the filter?

Have you checked the pathways on the block where oil would pass through from the pump?

Re: 0 oil pressure.

nope. dry filter and nothing in the passage. i even pulled the priming plug and toss some in there and turned it by hand a bit. it's not even getting oil up to that passage way. it's not picking up at all and i've tried 2 pumps and 2 pick ups so far. haha

Re: 0 oil pressure.

Is the entire engine 100% together when you attempt to test for oil pressure?

Re: 0 oil pressure.

Did you ever find out what the problem was with your oil pump. I am going through the same thing with my 98 prelude. Swap 2 new oil pumps already and no oil is going up
