Oil pump question

I have an H22a4 in which I'm putting on an oil pump from a 94' Lude. The problem I'm facing is that on the oil pump is a raised area that won't allow my crank timing belt sprocket fit all the way onto the end of the crankshaft. This is due to the arms on the sprocket that would be used for the original crank sensors.

My options are to grind the raised area on the pump down, grind the crank sprocket down or buy a crank sprocket from a 94.

Has anyone faced this problem?

Re: Oil pump question

Get the correct oil pump or timing components for your setup.

OBD1 pump using OBD2 timing components isn't gonna work as you just found out, and needing to grind anything down not only is ghetto, but if you grind the wrong part down, you won't even be able to start the engine.

Will the H22 timing sprocket fit on the a4 crank?

Re: Oil pump question

Yup #16 will fit.

But then your engine won't start, cuz there's no teeth on the sprocket to trip the crank sensor.

It's a good thing the crank sensor is in the distributor now. I'm running an OBD 1 distributor, fuel injectors & a P13 ECU. Wiring harness is OBD 1 as well.

Are you sure #16 will fit?

Thanks again!
