oil on spark plugs

So I was changing the plugs and a few of them had oil on the threads. Is that a bad thing and what does it mean?

Re: oil on spark plugs

It means you must post pics of your minty fresh car here at pz.

Eh, just kidding...
Your car sat a lot. Seals don't like to dry out. But in this case if it's not fouling the plugs no worries. It's a sign your valve seals are not completly sealing oil from getting past the valves.
It's a pretty normal maintenance thing in old engines.

Ask around to find a good shop in your area. Get prices, come back to this thread and report what prices you get for replacing the valve seals. No rush if your plugs are not fouling but... you will eventually need to either do it or have it done.

If you use the car right regular change to high mileage conventional oil until you get the work done. You won't have to add oil as often.
I switched and a couple of small leaks on the outside of my motor went away.
