First Post. First Problem that Stumped Me...

Hey everyone. Been creeping this forum for a couple years now. I drive a 2001 Prelude. Bought it and 184,XXXkm and it now just clicked over 255,XXX km. Love her and she has never let me down. Never really made any posts just searched, learned, was usually able to find my answers just reading around, but I am stumped here. Basically whenever I hit VTEC and rev high or drive Wide open throttle in high gear but a low speed my CEL flashes. It will flash for about a minute and go away. Wont come back till I do it again, and it does not always do it. Sorta just does it when it wants. I noticed no driving change, no hesitation, no power loss, just CEL flashes. Plugs are 30,XXX km old. Just changed my Cap, rotor , and wires about a month ago. EGR has been cleaned as well as the ports on the intake manifold, VTEC solenoid screen + gasket was replaced as well. Fluids always changed, and ALWAYS run 94 octane. Any thoughts folks??

usually cel flashes because the computer is telling you that you are damaging the cat... high exhaust temps or something to do with the o2 sensor as lazarky mentioned... that happened to me a couple years back with a different car i was driving it was a 1999 model ford and i was always taught that when it flashes you immediately shut the engine down because very bad things happen to the engine or cat if you don't... i know i'm forgetting something but can't remember what if anybody else has more understanding than that it would probably be more helpful to you to find the actually problem
