Both Rear Speakers Stop Working

Hey guys I just want to start off saying that I am new to prelude forums and this is my first thread. I own a MINT pearl white 2000 honda prelude Sh with only 35 thousand miles and I bought it with only 26 thousand miles last july. It is 100% stock right down the the radio. I was fortunate to buy it off a old man that kept it as his garage queen. I keep it off the road all winter to fight rust and rot (I live in RI). It is my baby
WELL ANWAY, yesterday I was listening to the radio and a bassy part started playing (I had the bass up high) and then all of a sudden both rear speakers just stopped making any noise at the same time. So right now all I have is the door speakers playing. I did some research and could only find that its probably a #5 fuse. I changed it and nothing happened. Any ideas? Please help!!!

Re: Both Rear Speakers Stop Working

The car came with a mono system in the rear that is fed by a small amp between the speakers.
You may have cooked that little amp with all that bass...

All Gen. Prelude Service Manuals
^^ grab ya a service manual and study the accoustic feedback system in there.

Sounds like you have a real nice car.

Now... if you want monsterous sound you'll kill that stock system quickly.
You should carefully remove the stock system, install a concert quality system and later on re-install the oem one or at least have it intact if you ever decide to sell the car as pure stock.

Many of us crumudgens are removing the aftermarket gear and re-installing the original type afbs stereo.

Majestichonda still has parts if you decide to keep yours stock, but hurt the amp.

I would like to keep it stock seeing the stock sound system sounds great to begin with? Would I be able to get a used amp out of a partout? I can imagine how exspensive a brand new one would be

^^ Certainly!!! Pm prelude1897 or respond to his part out threads in the fs section.

^^ it's pricey for new.

Check out the manual. It may not be the amp.

If it is and you can't find one from another pz member try car-part.com.
